Juvederm Fillers

Vollure

As we age, we lose volume in our face and have an increase of lines and wrinkles and folds start to form. There are surgical option available to help reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles. But when it comes to Bone and fat loss, replacing Volume can be the 1st step to restoring your youthful appearance. By strategically placing fillers in areas of volume & bone loss, you can retain your youthful appearance and forgo surgical intervention.

What is Vollure?

Juvederm Vollure XC is an injectable Hylauronic Acid filler used to soften lines and wrinkles due to the aging process. Vollure was approved in Europe under the name Volift and in March of 2017 was approved in the US, switching the name to Vollure.

What is Vollure used for?

Juvederm Vollure XC is used to treat moderate to severe lines in the lower face. Specifically, oral commissures, nasal labial folds and marionette lines.

How long does Vollure last?

Vollure was approved by the FDA for improvement in wrinkles and lines for up to 18 months. At the 18-month mark, approximately 68% of patients in the study were still very satisfied with their results.

What is the similarities and differences between Vollure, Volbella and Voluma?

Vollure, Volbella and Voluma are similar and different in many ways. They all belong to the Juvederm family of products and are Hylauronic Acid Fillers. They all use the Vycross technology that gives them longer duration then some of the other fillers on the market. What makes them different is the make-up of the product. Voluma, Vollure and Volbella each contain different amounts of the HA. Vollure falls right in the middle containing 17.5 mg/ml of HA. Voluma containing 20 mg/ml of HA and Volbella containing 15mg/ml.

Is Vollure Painful?

Vollure is technically called Juvederm Vollure XC. The XC indicates that there is numbing included in the syringe and this will allow your treatment to be very comfortable. We also have numbing cream available if you prefer to come in early and get a little pretreatment. Many of our client chose to do this and we would have you arrive to the office 30 minutes prior to your treatment to get numbed.

What is recovery like with Vollure?

Recovery with Vollure is minimal and you can return to normal activities immediately.

What if I don’t like my injections?

Since Vollure is a hylauronic acid it can be removed by injecting an enzyme into the area treated with Vollure to dissolve the product. This may take a few visits to achieve the desired results, but it is highly effective.

Are there any other areas that can be treated with Vollure?

Yes, off- label areas are perioral lines, lips, chin, jaw line, and temples.

How many Vollure treatments are needed to see results?

You will see results immediately, but depending on your volume loss or severity of your wrinkles it can take multiple syringes for desired results.

Volbella

Juvederm Volbella, a dermal filler from the Juvederm family of products by Allergan, a leader in the world of aesthetic injectables, is one of the latest injectable lip augmentation solutions to be approved by the FDA. Made available for use in the U.S. in October 2016, Juvederm Volbella is transforming the way in which we enhance our lips. This specially formulated dermal filler is designed to add fullness to the lips, improve lip symmetry, and reduce the signs of aging around the mouth.

Thanks to its smooth gel-like consistency, Juvederm Volbella can also effectively contour the lips to transform their shape and overall appearance. Featuring a proprietary form of hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs naturally in the body, Juvederm Volbella also utilizes Allergan’s proprietary Vycross technology for enhanced longevity and more natural results. A versatile and effective injectable, this filler also contains a small amount of lidocaine to minimize the minor discomforts sometimes associated with treatment.

Juvederm Volbella can:

  • Add fullness and plumpness to the lips
  • Produce results that last for up to a year
  • Provide gentle contouring for the correction of lip asymmetry
  • Soften the appearance of fine lines that often appear around the mouth as we age
  • Produce natural-looking results that are so subtle that no one needs to know that you had the procedure in the first place

The Ideal Candidate for Juvederm Volbella

Juvederm Volbella is intended for adults who are age 21 and over. Allergan conducted extensive clinical trials to test the safety and effectiveness of this filler, and the results showed that the safety of this product was about the same as that of the control group. These results mean that Juvederm Volbella is considered to be safe for most people to use.

However, certain people should not use Juvederm Volbella. Specifically, those who have severe allergies, including a history of anaphylaxis, are advised to not use this product. Additionally, if you are allergic to lidocaine or gram-positive bacterial proteins, you should not receive Juvederm Volbella treatments.

Otherwise, if you are unhappy with the appearance or feel of your lips and are ready to do something about it, you are an ideal candidate for Juvederm Volbella and similar fillers.

Additionally, if you have lines around your mouth that you would like corrected, or if you are unsatisfied with the shape or general appearance of your lips, Juvederm Volbella may be the right option for you.

Juvederm Volbella Injections: What to Expect During Treatment

The typical Juvederm Volbella treatment takes around 30 minutes. This is a safe, effective outpatient procedure, so you shouldn’t have to miss a beat when it comes to work and other responsibilities.

When you come in for your treatment, an Aesthetic Injection Specialist will begin by cleaning and preparing the treatment area. Since Juvederm Volbella contains small amounts of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, and the needle is very fine, discomfort is minimal. Most patient report only feeling a small pinch during treatment.

At the time of your appointment, your provider will already have met with you to determine where to administer the treatments. You will know exactly what to expect. After the treatment, you will be provided with post-care instructions and can resume most normal activities for the remainder of the day.

Voluma XC

Juvederm Voluma XC injectable gel is for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. It can provide you contour and a subtle lift for up to two years with optimal treatment. Made with proprietary VYCROSS technology. Contains lidocaine to help improve comfort during treatment.

Restylane & Dysport

Restylane

Restylane® and Dysport® are both used to enhance the facial features by correcting fine-to-moderate wrinkles to result in a fresher, more youthful appearance. “I use Dysport to correct lines of motion,” says Dr. Miriam Hanson, board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic expert in Austin, Texas. Doctors have now discovered the advantages of combining both products to achieve even better, more effective results.

Dysport is a popular injectable treatment that can smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. It is best noted for its natural-looking results.  Treatments with Dysport are often compared with those using Botox cosmetic. However, Dysport offers the additional benefits of:

Dysport

  • Less evidence of wrinkles and fine lines
  • Diminished crow’s-feet and frown lines
  • Faster results
  • Dysport does not entail surgery or anesthesia
  • Go back to work the same day after treatment

Restylane is a type of dermal filler used to help smooth away fine lines and wrinkles. It was created to emulate the body’s own hyaluronic acid, and comes in preparations that contain three different particle sizes that allow doctors to customize treatments to the individual.

  • Fine particles are used for detailed shaping and fine wrinkles.
  • Medium particles are used for medium to severe folds and wrinkles.
  • Large particles are used to create volume and for severe wrinkles.

What are the Advantages of Combining Restylane and Dysport?

There are many advantages of using a combination of Restylane and Dysport together. The first is convenience. Restylane and Dysport treatments can be administered during one session. This is not only convenient, but is also a safe and common practice that yields excellent results.

Studies suggest that patients treated with Dysport and Restylane in the same areas of the face have better and longer-lasting results than when either product was used alone. The combination of the two products provide a softer, more natural look than many other treatment modalities.

While Dysport works to relax fine to moderate facial lines and wrinkles, Restylane fills in those lines. Dysport helps to maintain the benefits of the Restylane in a combination that works beautifully to restore a youthful, well-rested appearance.

BOTOX & Dysport

How does BOTOX® work?

BOTOX® blocks the transmission of acetylcholine from the nerves to the muscle. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which sends a message to the muscle telling it to contract or tense up. With the flow of acetylcholine blocked or significantly reduced, the muscle can no longer retract and it relaxes. As a result, the wrinkled areas smooth out and soften.

Who should not have BOTOX® injections?

Women who are who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have BOTOX® treatment. People who have neurological diseases should not use BOTOX®.

What can BOTOX® do for me? – What areas of the face can BOTOX® injections treat?

BOTOX® is most frequently used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet at the outside corners of the eyes.

There are some types of wrinkles BOTOX® cannot help.

Sagging, drooping skin cannot be corrected using BOTOX®. Damage caused by the sun, such as leathery, wrinkled skin is also not repairable by BOTOX.

Wrinkles aren’t your style and the “frozen look” isn’t either. For adults who want a natural look, there’s Dysport, a prescription injection proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally. It’s the lines that disappear, not your expressions.

And because Dysport delivers the natural-looking results people want, 97% of users say they’d do it again.1 Additionally, Dysport is approved in 57 countries2 and has 25 years of clinical experience worldwide.3* Find out more about Dysport below, including how it works and what you need to know before starting treatment.

Choosing Dysport

How does Dysport work?

One injection. Five points. Loads of confidence.

Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions, which means they can even develop in younger adults. One injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally. In other words, no frozen look, just natural-looking results. You can control your look instead of your look controlling you.

How long does Dysport last?

Forget frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 4 months.

You’ve got better things to do than think about anti-aging and what your frown lines look like. In just one 10- to 20-minute treatment, Dysport may help improve the look of your frown lines between the eyebrows for up to 4 months.† The majority of patients see improvement in just 2–3 days after treatment.4-6** Results of repeat treatments may be comparable to your first use. Another plus? There is minimal downtime after your treatment, which means you can get back to your day faster.

PRP & PRFM

Skin Rejuvenation & Hair Growth. Gone are the days when hair loss was the problem suffered only by elders!

Hair loss is spreading like a disease and hitting people of all age groups! Yes, it is unfair and frustrating too! There are multiple reasons contributing to it- lifestyle, eating habits, stress, lack of nutrition etc…! You don’t only lose hair, you lose your confidence too and this is the reason that both men and women are ready to go to great lengths to avoid losing their hair. For some, going bald is equivalent to ageing which affects their personality. Fortunately, we are in 21st century and some of the intelligent minds have worked on therapy known as Platelet rich plasma abbreviated as PRP.

What is PRP and how does it help in hair fall?

PRP is a therapy wherein blood of person is drawn from his body, processed and then injected into the scalp. The blood can be drawn from any part of your body (could be arm or legs) and is then centrifuged to allow separation of fluids of different densities. This happens because blood has different components. It is segregated into three prime components i.e., plasma rich in platelets, plasma poor in platelets and red blood cells.

A person undergoing this therapy is made bald and then platelets rich plasma is injected into the scalp which initiate repair and gradually stimulates natural hair growth.

What are the risks involved?

The most common risk in any of the surgeries is to get injected with infected blood. In PRP, you are injected with your own blood components and this is the reason that you are not at risk of getting any communicable disease. If you little uneasiness, you should convey the same to therapist. Also, if you have smoking or alcohol or drug habits then that should be conveyed to your therapist at the earliest. Further, if you are on any medication for thyroid, blood pressure/ blood thinners, don’t forget to mention those to achieve best results.

Simple, cost-effective and feasible treatment

Over the years, your hairs get damaged from roots and all they need is rejuvenation and scalp nutrition which is provided by PRP. It is simple, cost effective and absolutely safe treatment which notably offers patient satisfaction. The amount that you spend towards various premium hair products to grow your hair collectively will be more than the cost of PRP. Hair loss can happen to anyone at any age and this is suitable and recommended treatment to grow your hair naturally!

Don’t let hair loss distress you in any manner. At VIP we have a team of dedicated individuals who know best techniques for PRP. The success rate of PRP is very high as it uses your own blood to activate the cells around your scalp. It provides natural results and improvement in hair volume and coverage and is thus adopted worldwide. PRP is absolutely safe and tested modes for stimulating hair growth and it might require combination of treatments if the damage is little more than normal.

PRP/PRFM for Face or Hands

So, what exactly is a Blood Plasma Facial injections? Well, technically it’s not a facial in the traditional sense of the word. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy purports to rejuvenate the skin by injecting your own blood plasma under your dermis, to stimulate cell growth and collagen production. And it’s become quite a sought-after non-surgical procedure.

It promises to improve complexion and texture and restore lost facial volume. Bonus: Because your own platelets are used, there’s no risk or allergy or rejection of the treatment.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), as an injection or topically, can be added to the Fractora (Skin Rejuvenation) Laser session for an addition charge.

Sculptra®

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is a synthetic injectable material known as “poly-L-lactic acid.” Poly-L-lactic acid is both biocompatible (ie, a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (ie, able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been in wide use for many years in a variety of medically-related uses like anti-aging, including dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other types of implants.

How does Sculptra® work?

Sculptra® is injected below the surface of the skin; it is injected directly into the area of fat loss. Skin thickness decreases as people age; Sculptra® works to restore a gradual increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions to give you the anti-aging look you desire.

Using Sculptra® will not correct the underlying cause of the facial fat loss, but will help improve the appearance by increasing skin thickness in the treated area.

Do I need a skin test before being treated with Sculptra®?

No skin testing is required prior to use.

Are the results from Sculptra® immediate?

No. After your first anti-aging treatment, it may appear that Sculptra® worked immediately; this is because of swelling from the injections and the water used to dilute Sculptra®. After a few days, when the swelling goes down and the your body absorbs the water, you may look as you did before your treatment. Sculptra® takes time to gradually correct the depression in your skin and restore volume.

How many treatments are required?

Patients with severe facial fat loss may need to visit our Mesa office 3 to 6 times for repeat treatment sessions.

How long do treatment results last?

Treatment results will differ from person to person. In a clinical study, these anti-aging treatment results were shown to last for up to 2 years after the first treatment session, in most patients. Touch-up Sculptra® treatments may be needed to maintain the desired effect.

Do injections of Sculptra® hurt?

As with any injection, injections with Sculptra® may hurt. Sculptra® is injected in small amounts using a very fine needle, and effort is taken to minimize the discomfort, apply a topical or local anesthetic if you desire.

What can I expect to happen at a treatment session?

Your practitioner will answer all of your questions and prepare you for the treatment.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately following a treatment session with Sculptra®, redness, swelling, pain, bruising or all of these signs may occur in the treatment area. These signs and symptoms usually go away on their own in a few hours to a few days. Some, however, have been known to last up to 17 days. Your practitioner will give you specific post-treatment care instructions. You should massage the treated area (a few times each day) for several days after your treatment. Within the first 24 hours after treatment, an ice pack should be applied for a few minutes at a time to the treatment area to help reduce swelling. Wrap the ice in a cloth and avoid putting ice directly on your skin, as prolonged exposure to extremely cold temperatures can be harmful. Avoid excessive exposure, and avoid UV lamp exposure until any initial swelling and redness has resolved.

Report any worsening or longer-lasting symptoms.

How quickly can I get back to my daily activities?

Most patients feel comfortable going back to their normal activities following treatment. No downtime is usually required.

What are the possible side effects of treatment with Sculptra®?

The most common side effects that patients see with the use of Sculptra® include injection-related side effects at the site of the injection such as bleeding, tenderness or pain, bruising, redness, or swelling. These side effects generally last, on average, 3 to 17 days.

One possible delayed side effect that you may see with Sculptra® is small bumps under the skin in the treated area. These small bumps may not be visible; you may notice them only when you press on the treated skin. These bumps tend to happen within the first 6 to 12 months after the first Sculptra® treatment. Occasionally, these bumps go away on their own. Visible bumps, sometimes with redness or color change to the treated area, have also been reported. As with all procedures that involve an injection through the skin, there is a risk of infection.

When will I be able to apply make-up after treatment?

You may apply make-up a few hours after treatment if no complications are present (for example, open wounds or bleeding) Do not apply make-up to cut, raw or bleeding skin.

PDO Threads

Polydioxanone is a fully absorbable suture that have been used for over 20 years in orthopedics, surgery, plastic surgery and ophthalmology.

PDO Threads have a high safety profile, complete absorption and minimal tissue reaction. PDO threads can help with anti-aging and reposition sagging skin while also stimulating collagen and elastin production.

Why use PDO threads?

PDO threads correct static, sagging skin creating immediate anti-aging restoration and a more youthful appearance. The process is minimally invasive and regenerates and improves the structure and texture of skin without need for surgery.

How are PDO threads placed?

The PDO thread is inserted into the subdermal tissue for temporary support of the area being treated. Over the next 6 months, the PDO threads will dissolve and create collagen, elastic and hyaluronic acid. The skin then becomes smoother, thicker, and provides a more youthful look.

How long do PDO threads last?

PDO threadings begin to naturally dissolve after 6 to 8 months. The effects become more pronounced and natural over time as more collagen is stimulated.

What areas can we treat with PDO Threads?

Areas that can be treated include check, jawline, brows, crow’s feet, under eyes, vertical lip lines, neck, buttocks, and thighs.

  • Stimulate collagen production
  • Trigger cellular renewal and resurfacing
  • Tighten and tone skin

Sclerotherapy

What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a popular method of eliminating superficial telangiectasias “spider veins” and reticular veins “feeder veins” in which a solution, called a sclerosing agent, is injected into the vein. The injections cause a sclerosis or the formation of fibrous tissue (clotting) in the vessel subsequent to an inflammatory reaction. This process causes a gradual fading of the treated vessels over a period of several weeks to months.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of treatments vary from person to person. Your provider may have you come back every 4-6 weeks for up to 6 treatments to continue results. Treatments usually call for one to three treatments on average.

What to expect:

Side effects after treatment include bruising, hyperpigmentation, pain, and swelling. Patient should not exercise for 1 week after treatment and avoid prolonged standing and sitting. Compression stockings are to be worn for 2-4 weeks after treatment to promote healing and increase desired affects. During consultation your provider will review pre and post instructions to help you prepare for treatment and healing.
