BOTOX and Dysport

How does BOTOX® work?

BOTOX® blocks the transmission of acetylcholine from the nerves to the muscle. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter which sends a message to the muscle telling it to contract or tense up. With the flow of acetylcholine blocked or significantly reduced, the muscle can no longer retract and it relaxes. As a result, the wrinkled areas smooth out and soften.

Who should not have BOTOX® injections?

Women who are who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have BOTOX® treatment. People who have neurological diseases should not use BOTOX®.

What can BOTOX® do for me? – What areas of the face can BOTOX® injections treat?BOTOX® is most frequently used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet at the outside corners of the eyes.

There are some types of wrinkles BOTOX® cannot help.Sagging, drooping skin cannot be corrected using BOTOX®. Damage caused by the sun, such as leathery, wrinkled skin is also not repairable by BOTOX.

Choosing Dysport: See Angela’s story

See why Angela, a busy mom,  chooses Dysport for a natural look.

How does Dysport work?

One injection. Five points. Loads of confidence.

Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Wrinkles are caused by repeated movements and muscle contractions, which means they can even develop in younger adults. One injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally. In other words, no frozen look, just natural-looking results. You can control your look instead of your look controlling you.
